A former broadcaster and journalist, Eva Innes is an experienced communications and marketing professional, with award-winning expertise in writing and marketing. She has strong skills in strategic planning in a wide range of marketing, branding and communications initiatives.
Prior to forming Eva Innes Consulting, Eva spent 17 years in marketing and corporate communications in banking and telecommunications companies. Her last corporate role job was head of marketing and client strategy for the private banking division of The Bank of Montreal. She has extensive knowledge developing marketing approaches that resonate with High Net Worth Canadians, ranging from narrowly focused direct marketing campaigns to unique and exclusive events.
Her career included heading up the communications departments at the Canadian Bankers Association, AT&T Canada (now Allstream) and MediaLinx (the Bell Canada organization that created the Sympatico internet service) and Norigen.
Eva also spent 20 years in journalism, a first decade in current affairs television and then at The Financial Post newspaper.
She is the author of two best-selling business books:
• The 100 Best Companies to Work for in Canada, Harper Collins, 1986, editor & co-author. This bestseller sold more than 55,000 copies.
• Second edition, The 100 Best Companies to Work for in Canada, 1990.
• Turning it Around: How 10 Canadian Organizations Changed Their Fortunes, Random House. 1989; finalist for 1990 Best Business Book in Canada award.
Eva has qualifications in coaching, having taken several coaching programs, including Adler's Positive Change: Leader as Coach course.
She sits on three not-for-profit boards: The Music Gallery, an organization devoted to the creation and performance of contemporary music; Opera Canada, an organization that publishes a magazine devoted to Opera in Canada and also hosts the Rubies Opera Awards. Eva is also the secretary of the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto Foundation.
